Open from January 6th.
January and February tend to be quiet. I’ll update this post in February to let you all know what’s coming in March (We aim to have the nursery looking INCREDIBLE from the 1st March onward) but in the meantime here’s what you can expect=
Primula Acaulis (Common names include: polyanthus/primula/prims)
The first of these are flowering in the next few weeks, and as a stop-gap bedding before the Spring season arrives, they’re perfect; hardy, colourful, low maintenance.
Bulbs can still be planted. We’ve potted up tete a tete, snowdrops, bluebells, daffs, crocus and many more. These are rooting now, although can be set at any point right up until spring.
It’s a good time for hedging! Although the majority of our laurel/red robin comes late Feb, there’s still a bit of native beech and privet. Better, it’s cheap this time of year, and conditions for planting are perfect.
In the meantime we’ll be busy growing the first plugs for the Spring season.
